Disclaimer: You do not need a funnel to get your first few coaching clients! With a clear picture of who your ideal client is, the problem you help them solve, and the transformation your clients can expect, you can manually sell your coaching program and packages. Yes, you will see short term wins however this is not sustainable.
Letâs break down the sales funnel into each stepâŠ
Funnel Step #1: Attention
The first step in your funnel is to grab attention! This can be from your Facebook personal or business fan page, Facebook group, Instagram, YouTube, Podcast, and/or Facebook Ads (if you add paid traffic to the mix).
Coaching Tip: Create content that is valuable to your ideal clients. Solve their problems, hit their pain points, and give them a transformation with everything you share online (like this article). Not just feel-good motivational quotes!
Leverage your social media content to share a free offer that blows their minds! This could be a free video course (like the Online Coaching Business Crash Course) or a PDF download (like the Know Your Niche Guide).
Thousands of people will come to the top of your funnel. A high percentage of them will never work with you, but the people who resonate with your message and see the value you offer will move on to the next step
Funnel Step #2: Enter Your List
Perfect! Youâve started to build your email list with subscribers who resonated with your message, have the exact problem you solve, and knew theyâd be missing out if they passed up on your lead magnet.
Now you have to start building a relationship with them! You can think of this as the âdatingâ phase that you go through before you âpop the questionâ đ
Send your email subscribers value-packed content like an article you wrote on Medium, a YouTube video, an invite to your weekly Facebook live, or a well-crafted email that flexes your copywriting skills to give them an email they can get something out of.
Funnel Step #3: Webinar / Sales Conversation
The next step in your coaching business sales funnel is to move your prospects into a sales presentation like a webinar or masterclass! A value-centric live webinar will give each of your attendees a transformation on its own, which means sharing the details about your coaching program and the even bigger transformations they can get will lead them to the final two stepsâŠ
Funnel Step #4: Application
After your sales pitch (through your webinar, masterclass, or sales emails), youâve got an interested potential client who has been pre-qualified to work with you. Grab their information and get them on a Zoom call to make sure it is a good fit for both of you.
Funnel Step #5: Work With You
Congrats! You have your first (of many) coaching clients ready to get started! Your sales funnel has done its job and turned a stranger browsing on the internet into a client.
